How easy is it to reach a Canadian dental practice from its public front door?
This is a scorecard of separate public signals: Google-profile booking, listing websites, crawler-detected capture paths, stored ratings, and raw listing-address province. It does not describe a patient funnel or a census.
Cohort: 19,065 deduplicated dental-category listings in the current source. Study observation window: 2026-04-14 to 2026-07-03.

The report never derives one result by subtracting an unrelated count from the cohort. A booking number is based on checked profiles; a capture number is based on successful website fetches; rating uses stored ratings; province uses raw listing-address evidence.

Method and limits
Designed to be checkable, not dramatic
The source is aggregate-only. No practice is named. It has one checked-in JSON source, deterministic public derivatives, and a provenance record for the exact snapshot, parser, generator, and contract used.
Cohort boundary
Deduplicated dental-category listings observed in a Canada-wide Google Maps search sweep across all FSA search seeds. This is not a census of every Canadian dentist.
Exact allowed business types: dentist, dental clinic, orthodontist, pediatric dentist, pediatric dentistry, oral surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, periodontist, endodontist, prosthodontist, cosmetic dentist, dental implants provider, dental implant provider, dental implant periodontist, emergency dental service, emergency dentistry, dentistry, dental office, dental centre, dental center, dental practice, dental group, family dentist, family dentistry, dental studio. Narrow exclusions: dental_laboratory, dental_lab, dental_supply, dental_hygiene, faculty_of_dentistry, school_of_dentistry, college_of_dental, dental_association, dental_society, dental_regulator, dental_board, dental_insurance.
Booking status definitions
Only rows with profile_checked_at are counted. none means no Google-profile link; realtime_booking is live self-scheduling; request_form is an online appointment request; weak, dead, and blocked remain separate statuses.
Stored rating validation
Ratings are aggregated from stored canonical rows. The repaired subject-place parser validates the exact local/reviews anchor in the raw blob; it does not rewrite stored ratings. Comparable overlap: 88.6%. Difference at least 0.5: 0.3%.
Website and capture limits
Listing websites exclude known booking-only hosts. Raw/stored host agreement is 99.4%. A missing crawler-detected form or booking/request link does not prove a patient must phone.
Province boundary
Province comes from the raw subject listing, not a search seed. Canonical listing address is validation evidence only. No city cut appears in this study.
